Barry Carter, Service Delivery Manager
The Morphum Environmental quality management and environmental management systems have been refreshed and updated in recent weeks. We have applied jointly for accreditation for ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems and ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Standard, which require two stages of assessment by a registration body.
Our stage one assessment was carried out by International Certifications in early November, and we were pleased to receive their positive report. We are now in the process of preparing for the stage two assessment, which will be conducted in February 2016.
Our quality management system has evolved significantly over the last year following the implementation of Accelo (formerly Affinity Live) as our core project management system. Information and data is now captured for each project within Accelo, and this has enabled several discrete parts of the previous quality management process to be embedded within the project management system. The result has been improved efficiencies, reduction in hard copy form filling and increased reporting functionality enabling better management oversight of the business.
By updating both the quality management system and environmental management system at the same time, we have been able to integrate requirements for both ISO standards; for example, our issues and improvements register will be used for both quality and environmental management.
Ensuring quality management and environmental management have always been core values for Morphum Environmental, and it is great to see both systems developed and undergoing ISO accreditation. We look forward to updating our progress in 2016.
