What is the role?
Morphum Environmental is looking for an enthusiastic and talented environmental scientist and/or planner to lead our Environmental Science team. This role would suit someone who is ready to take the next step in their career into a leadership role. The point of difference with this role is the passionate and experienced team and the ability be involved in a diverse range of projects including:
contaminated site assessments
ecological impact assessments (terrestrial, coastal and freshwater)
assessments of environmental effects
catchment based water quality programs
integrated catchment planning
technical scientific research and development
regional and district plan changes and policy advice
The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience (preferably in consulting) and a minimum of a Bachelor of Science and/or Planning degree. Additionally, you will have exceptional communication and report writing skills combined with the ability to identify and act on commercial leads. Experience in environmental planning, GIS and data management is preferable and New Zealand experience is a definite advantage. You will have proven ability and desire to motivate and lead teams. You must have a real passion for sustainability and the environment, along with an interest in freshwater, terrestrial, coastal ecology and/or marine science. Joining our dynamic and sustainably focused team, you will be involved in a wide range of interesting and multidisciplinary projects.
Responsibilities in this role include:
Effectively managing the Environmental Science team to deliver excellent results
Undertaking environmental assessments and report findings
Management of environmental data sets as required
Contract, project and financial management of projects
Working collaboratively within project teams
Supporting and developing client, supplier and subcontractor relationships
Being actively involved in business development particularly in the area of environmental science
Increasing company capacity and institutional knowledge
