Sam is a geographic information systems (GIS) analyst, who joined the Morphum Environmental team in January of 2017. As part of the sustainable development team, Sam has been involved in a Kaitaia wastewater overflow reduction study and an erosion and works programme in Mangaheka.

Sam holds a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Otago, and a Postgraduate Diploma and Masters in Environmental Science (specialising in fluvial geomorphology) from the University of Auckland. His studies focused on utilising high resolution photogrammetric techniques to analyse channel stability from a catchment management perspective, and involved the use of an unmanned aerial vehicle to capture high resolution data across a large alpine catchment in the Seaward Kaikoura Range.
