Miriam joined Morphum Environmental in July 2023. Miriam graduated from Victoria University of Wellington with a Bachelor of Science in Geography and Environmental Science and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Geographic Information Science. She has since had eight years experience in private consultancies working on projects in the land development, transportation, Māori cultural heritage and power transmission fields. Her passion for the environment and conservation started at a young age, inspired by her time as an expatriate in South East Asia, Europe and the Middle East. While home in New Zealand for the school holidays, she volunteered at Wellington’s Zealandia EcoSanctuary and later as a tertiary student offered her GIS skills to the invasive weed control team. Today, Miriam enjoys the challenge of helping clients articulate their requirements when designing solutions to complex problems, particularly when empowering them to make informed decisions associated with environmental issues. At Morphum, Miriam uses her experience in data analysis and presentation to deliver data insights to subject matter experts within the organisation and to Morphum’s clients.

Miriam is a dedicated kung fu student and as a senior member of her school, runs her own classes for both children and adults. While she enjoys the physical challenge in testing her own coordination skills, she finds great satisfaction in observing personal growth in her students and their progress through the school curriculum.
