We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented People and Culture Coordinator to join our team.

People & Culture Coordinator

Tāmaki Makaurau | Auckland
  • Do you thrive in a purpose-driven organisation where your day-to-day work contributes, in big and small ways, to employee experience?
  • Are you confident managing the talent acquisition process and playing a leading role in onboarding new employees?
  • Do you bring attention to detail and empathy?

Morphum Environmental seeks a dedicated and proactive people person who can support the People and Culture function alongside the P&C Lead.

Driven by our vision to create environmental change and sustainable outcomes that will ensure a thriving ecosystem for generations to come, we work with changemakers to restore balance and enhance our natural ecosystems by developing and engineering sustainable, adaptable solutions that will ensure resilient communities into the future.

Our specialist and integrated team provides leading environmental engineering, science, GIS, and sustainability services and delivers pragmatic solutions that leave a lasting impact. This role is instrumental in supporting our client-facing team to perform at their best.

What is the role?

This role presents an excellent opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of the P&C function, serve as a contributor to achieving meaningful outcomes, and support our people in reaching their full potential. You will have the opportunity to grow your career, with no two days being the same in the ever-changing life of an environmental consultancy.

This role will be part of our close-knit and diverse Business Performance Team in our Auckland head office. You will be amongst like-minded, passionate people comprising administration, accounts, marketing and people & culture specialists.

This role is a great fit if you’re looking for variety, enjoy balancing people-facing work with behind-the-scenes coordination, and want to grow your career in the People & Culture field.

What You will Do

In this role you will:

  • Facilitate end-to-end recruitment processes — from creating job descriptions, advertising, shortlisting, screening, arranging interviews, through to offer and onboarding instructions.
  • Maintain employment contracts and HR documentation, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal policies.
  • Administer leave management, including leave requests, tracking balances, and advising employees/managers on entitlements.
  • Support HR coordination tasks like new starter setup, exit processes, employee file maintenance, and HR system updates.
  • Monitor and help refine people processes and policies (e.g. performance review process, probation, guidelines) to improve efficiency and experience.
  • Manage professional development budgets

About you

You’re an emerging People & Culture professional with a relevant degree (HR, Business, Psychology or similar) and 1–2 years of experience in an HR or coordinator role. You’re a true generalist — comfortable turning your hand to recruitment, HR administration, and people initiatives.

You have:

  • A solid grounding in HR practices, with a keen interest in growing your skills across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail — you keep processes tidy and running smoothly.
  • Confidence with systems and documentation, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • A collaborative, approachable style that helps you build trust with candidates, colleagues, and managers alike.
  • Initiative and curiosity to learn, ask questions, and contribute ideas to improve how we do things.
  • Word, Excel and Adobe skills are essential.
  • You actively engage in a culture of teaching and learning and are willing to continuously develop knowledge of tikanga, diversity, equity and inclusion, sustainable outcomes, and low-carbon initiatives.
  • You are located in Auckland.

So why work with us?

Our positive team culture strongly focuses on collaboration, project outcomes, and sustainability.

We offer benefits such as a sustainable transport subsidy and a professional development budget, to name a few.

We believe deeply in social change through diversity, equity and inclusion.  As a proud Diversity Agenda member, Morphum fosters a diverse workforce and an inclusive workplace.

We offer flexible working options with a working-from-home policy in place.
