
Preetika has over 20 years of work experience in the environment, water and Climate Change sector in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. She brings a breadth of experience with her multi-disciplinary environmental background.
Preetika graduated with her PhD in 2023 titled “Response of Coastal Systems to Anthropogenic Climate Change” and has strong expertise in carrying out climate risk vulnerability assessments and adaptation planning.
Prior to joining Morphum, Preetika had worked as a Catchment Planner at the Healthy Waters and Flood Resilience department of Auckland Council. Preetika managed and coordinated projects within various catchments across the Auckland region for stormwater infrastructure planning, flood resilience, blue-green networks and water quality improvements. Preetika also provided specialist input for Stormwater Management Plans, Spatial Plans, Shoreline Adaptation Plans, Climate Adaptation Plans, Catchment Management Plans, Future Development Strategy, Plan Change, policy planning and resource consent applications. She was part of the Catchment Planning team that led the property categorisation project post-2023 Auckland floods and had helped coordinate around 18 consulting firms involved in the flood recovery project. She had also been involved with the technical assessment of more than 300 properties around Auckland for the property buy-out process.
