Morphum Environmental seeks a talented environmental scientist/ ecologist to join our Auckland team!

What is the role?
The role is for a well-rounded ecologist with the ability to conduct systematic monitoring and assessment. If you are ready to take the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you.
What we are looking for
- You have a minimum of a Bachelor of Environmental Science or Ecology (or equivalent) and 3+ years of relevant, preferably consultancy, experience.
- You demonstrate a strong understanding of NZ ecology, including plant identification and a wide range of field methods/survey techniques (i.e., Stream Ecological Valuations, Wetland Delineations, RECCE plots)
- You have experience in report writing and preparing ecological impact assessments
- Strong knowledge of resource management legislation , policy and practice in New Zealand
- You have experience with field assessments, and one or more of the following would be an advantage:
- Birds,
- Bats,
- Lizards,
- Freshwater fish,
- Wetland vegetation,
- Terrestrial vegetation.
- You hold strong environmental values and have a passion for sustainability
- You actively engage in a culture of teaching and learning and are willing to continuously develop appreciation of mātauranga Māori, diversity, equity and inclusion, sustainable outcomes, and low-carbon initiatives.
A wildlife act approval/permit for bat or lizard handling would be an advantage
