Thanks for a great 2025.
This year we pushed as we hit some new milestones and increased our positive impact in many different ways, with highlights spanning teams and regions.
Here is a replay of our year together:

This year we completed more than 250 Projects across the business! These ranged from creating site-specific planting plans, right through to developing GIS platforms for councils with more than 1.5 million residents. That's a whole lot of impact!

This year we made direct impact in the work that we've completed, including relocating more than 2500 native tuna (eels) from stormwater ponds and other areas due for earthworks maintenance.
On top of this, we also relocated smaller native fish from these sites, native lizards from construction locations and performed bird & bat surveys of native bush to ensure no nests or roosts would be harmed.

We believe in a holistic approach to projects. Morphum has specialists from a range of disciplines, including science, engineering, geospatial and business sustainability specialists, who work together in cross-team proejcts consistently to achieve the best results.
Some of these positive results come from science team testing the environmental DNA (eDNA) found in streams before and after our environmental engineers have designed a new fish passage to allow movement of freshwater species. With a huge increase in numbers of native fish DNA detected in these streams as a result of the engineering design, we're happy to see our engineering and science teams being able to improve and measure the impact of works like this.

One of the largest and most diverse examples of the cross-team work that we do is streamwalking. Our engineers and scientists will head out into the field together and, using geospatial software developed by our GIS team, log the conditions of the stream water and infrastructure assets for the entire length of the stream. This work helps councils understand the issues and opportunities to catchments, and make deicisions based on this data.
Working with the big-picture planning is always a highlight for our teams, whether we're catchment planning, engaging with stakeholders or developing sustainable development frameworks.

A quarter of a century ago, Morphum was founded with a vision - to create environmental change and sustainable outcomes that will ensure a thriving ecosystem for generations to come.
We've come a long way from where we began, and our journey has spanned communities and ecosystems across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia.
So thank you for being a part of this journey.
We’re looking forward to the next 25 years of bringing positive change to te taiao and ngā hāpori.

We don't only support the sustainability efforts of other organisations, we’re constantly improving our own sustainability too.
You can read our latest sustainability report here:
To everyone that we worked with, engaged with and conencted with, for being a part of making 2025 a year of creating lasting impacts.
Our offices will close from 23rd December and reopen 5th January 2026.
We hope you have a well-earned break with whanau and friends in this beautiful land we love.
