Auckland water safety plan recommendations actioned across region | Morphum Environmental

Recommendations around improvements to small water supplies for 37 Auckland Council owned sites across the Auckland region are currently being implemented. The recommendations have arisen from water safety plans which were developed for Auckland Council by Morphum Environmental in 2014, as part of the Auckland regional small water supplies and wastewater services advice contract. Greer Lees, environmental engineer and infrastructure strategist at Morphum Environmental, has been working alongside Auckland Council to action the changes.

Of the sites encompassed by the project, 13 are in the northern Auckland region and include some of Auckland’s beautiful northern regional parks and campgrounds. A series of site audits are currently being undertaken at each site by the Auckland District Health Board in conjunction with Auckland Council, Morphum Environmental, and the facility maintenance contractors. These site audits monitor progress in implementing improvements to the water supplies and ensure safe drinking water is available.

Periodic site visits and audits are taking place over the next few months at Sinclair Park, Shelly Beach, and Shakespear Regional Park, as well at sites in Huapai and Kumeu.

The team at Morphum Environmental has extensive experience in the area of water management systems, providing design, verification and monitoring services for water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure.
